This raster dataset presents the piezometric levels of the Chaudière River Watershed aquifer. The study area designates the Chaudière River watershed, located south of the St. Lawrence River, near Québec City. A regional potentiometric map was generated using 450 water level measurements in bedrock wells obtained during the 2007 regional survey, and 1020 data points collected from the drillers' log database. To do the map, a standard kriging technique was applied. The final regional potentiometric surface closely follows the watershed topography. Groundwater levels attain altitudes of more than 1000 masl in the south, and gradually decreasing to the average sea level at the mouth of the Chaudière River.
This dataset was created to provide the regional piezometry within the region of Chaudiere River Watershed.
