This dataset presents the piezometric surface elevation in meter above sea level of the bedrock aquifers in the south-central area of the Maritimes Carboniferous Basin. The study area extends from 65°30' à 63°30'. The data were obtained from database of New Brunswick (219 values), Nova Scotia (225 values) and Prince Edward Island (153 values), and from the fieldwork (351 data). The data taken before 1998 were not used in this study. The isolines were traced with SURFER through kriging using an exponential variogram with a correlation length of 21 km. The resulting map shows that the groundwater generally flows towards the ocean, but that watersheds of large rivers have a significant influence on groundwater flow.
This dataset was created to provide the regional piezometry within the region of the Maritimes.
